AEG’s annual holiday charitable initiative, Season of Giving focused this year on supporting youth development programs and joining their organizational efforts to brighten the holiday season for the children and families impacted by Los Angeles County’s high rate of poverty. Throughout the month of December, a different charity, foundation or non-profit organization was honored nightly at the skating rink as part of AEG’s Season of Giving initiative. Some of the organizations included Big Brothers Big Sister of Greater Los Angeles, Boys and Girls Club of America, HollyRod Foundation, After-School All-Stars, Heart of Los Angeles (HOLA), Elevate Hope Foundation, Children’s Hospital LA, A Place Called Home and many more. In the last five years, more than 150 charities and non-profit organizations have benefited from the program.

L.A. LIVE officially kicked off its holiday celebration in Nokia Plaza L.A. LIVE with its sixth annual tree lighting at the LA Kings Holiday Ice presented by Coca-Cola. The evening’s festivities were hosted by FOX Sports Broadcaster Erin Andrews and featured performances by singer/songwriter and former AMERICAN IDOL contestant Pia Toscano, YouTube sensations Robby Word and Alex G, with special appearances by professional skateboarder Shaun White, NHL Hall of Fame and LA Kings legend Luc Robitaille, LA Kings’ Jonathan Quick, LA Lakers’ Robert Sacre and L.A. Councilmember Curren Price. The highlight of the night was the majestic lighting of the 66-foot artificial Sequoia tree with more than 120,000 cool white LED mini lights, all while snow blanketed the streets of L.A. LIVE for Target’s best.snowday.ever. The night marked the official start of AEG’s Season of Giving.

Friday, December 13th took a positive spin when AEG and City Year Los

Angeles mobilized hundreds of volunteers for a day of service as part of

AEG’s Season of Giving charitable campaign.

The AEG “Service Day” is an initiative that encourages all Southern California AEG employees to spend a day volunteering in the community as a team. City Year, a national organization that unites teams of young people for a year of service in high-need urban schools, teamed up with AEG to beautify the campus of Samuel Gompers Middle School in Watts.

The powerful day of service created a more engaging, educational, and colorful environment for children to learn and play. Service projects included painting the entire school gym, college logos and healthy eating murals.

The StubHub Center Foundation donated over 500 toys and books to the US Marines Toys for Tots for kids in need located in the city of Carson. The toy drive ran from December 9, 2013 through December 18, 2013 at the StubHub Center.

STAPLES Center Foundation collected over 200 toys and donated them to local nonprofit organizations such as Clinica Romero, Girls Today Women Tomorrow and Bill Cruz Early Education Center.

Through a partnership between AEG and the CP3 Foundation, 100

children from LA’s BEST enjoyed a holiday party at Lucky Strike L.A.

LIVE as part of AEG’s Season of Giving charitable campaign.

In addition to enjoying an afternoon of food and bowling, each child had

the opportunity to take a one-on-one photo with six-time NBA All Star

Chris Paul. And to close out the afternoon, Chris played Santa and

personally gave each child a gift, courtesy of Mattel Children’s

Foundation, assisted by his “elves,” cast members from Nickelodeon’s

“Haunted Hathaways.”
